What is motivation ?
Motivation is an essential component in running practice , especially for those who want to follow a training for a specific goal.
Starting a training session is simple, sticking to it without postponing the sessions is something harder. Finding the strength to follow the schedule when the weather is gloomy or when you just don't want to, requires finding deep down the elements that will push you to put on our shoes to go out running.
We will see several tips that will allow you over the sessions to keep this urge to work out at all costs.
Set a goal
All the difficulty will be in choosing a realistic objective, which is quite easy to reach but difficult at the same time. Whether it's a short-term objective ("I am going to run at least 7 km") or medium-term ("I am going to run my first marathon"), the mental vision of the goal to be accomplished allows you to know where you're going and what to do to get there!
This objective must be adapted to your current capacities.
Be regular
Try to impose a rhythm on your training, for example every 3 days or every Tuesday and Thursday. Your runs must be an integral part of your daily life. You will have your schedule and nothing will prevent you from succeed.
Vary
Vary your training, whether in terms of duration, intensity, course or difficulty. While being beneficial on improving your abilities, the variation will prevent you from being bored on your training because it will be different each time.
You can also vary the sports, swimming and cycling are 2 sports complementary to running and all this will benefit you for your first triathlon :).
And why not indulge in an artistic activity while running ? Do you know the Stravart ? A fun way to jog and boost your motivation.
Listen to music
Going for a run listening to music you like will make time go faster. Be careful, however, not to get carried away by a too fast rhythm.
And above all think of good tiredness that you will have when returning from your jogging, the refreshed mind and the feeling of wellbeing in your body.
